What ShareNote does
ShareNote is a browser-based Markdown editor for creating temporary links without an account, installation, or setup. It is designed for notes, checklists, drafts, code snippets, and short-lived handoffs where a simple link is more useful than a permanent document system.
Privacy model
Before content leaves the browser, it is compressed and encrypted with AES-GCM 256 through WebCrypto. The encryption key stays in the URL fragment, which browsers do not send in HTTP requests. The service therefore stores opaque encrypted bytes and cannot read the note as ordinary text.
Honest limits
ShareNote is not permanent storage, real-time collaboration, a regulated records system, or a corporate secrets vault. Anyone with the complete link can read the note, and losing the link means losing access to its key. Choose an expiration time appropriate to the sensitivity of the content.
