Privacy at ShareNote

How ShareNote protects note content and handles the technical data required to operate the service.

Note content

ShareNote compresses and encrypts note text in the browser with AES-GCM 256. The key is kept in the URL fragment, which is not included in HTTP requests. The storage layer receives encrypted payload bytes and technical metadata needed to expire and deliver the link.

Technical data

A web service may process technical network information needed to return responses, limit abuse, and maintain availability. ShareNote does not require a name, email, account, or password to create a note, and readable note content is not used for advertising or profiling.

Your responsibility

The complete link functions as the credential. Share it only with people who should have access and do not place information in an external service when your organization forbids it. Expired notes and one-time notes become unavailable according to the selected policy.
